Marvellous Mentors

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey

As I start 2022 keen as a bean to prioritise my health and happiness, it is helpful to look towards those who are further down the path who can serve as a beacon, pointing out the rocky patches to avoid and the best shady spots for a rest. These mentors can inspire and encourage you, whether you know them IRL or just through the magic of the interwebs.

“I had no mentors in the beginning, so I turned to books. I gravitated also toward biographies; I realized that some of the greatest human beings that ever lived have also endured some of the greatest challenges. That realization, and those “mentors” to model started to change me”. — Tony Robbins

We are more exposed to external influences than ever before. It’s helpful to curate these so your feed isn’t all ex-MAFS contestants and Brazilian Butt Lifts which can make you feel like a Flog with a flat booty. Instead follow those who uplift and inspire. I have mentors for writing, wellness and wealth.

“In order to kick ass, you must first lift up your foot. —Jen Sincero; author, coach, self-quoter”

Badass Jen Sincero

Witty writers: I love the mix of humour, heart and honesty of Pam Grout (Thank & Grow Rich) and Jen Sincero (You are a Badass at Making Money) who have written Personal Development books and blogs that have me giggling giddily. Thank you for inspiring me and many others into a world of woo-woo-lol writing.

The amazingly awesome Pam G

“How bad do you want to feel good? For real. How bad?” — Melissa Wood-Tepperberg

Long lines with Melissa.

Wellness warriors: I appreciate how gentle and encouraging Melissa Wood-Tepperberg (Melissa Wood Health) and Adriene Mishler (Yoga with Adriene) are in leading their Pilates/ yoga programs. Melissa focuses on how good a little bit of daily movement can feel and Adriene asks us to find what feels right for our body in the present moment. Namaste for the supportive (rather than tough) love.

Adriene and sweet Benji

“Never compare yourself to anyone else; if you genuinely believe in your idea and you’re obsessed with it-just go for it.” Tash Oakley

The one and only Tash O

Wealthy women: Tash Oakley (Monday Swimwear/ The Pilates Class) and Zoë Foster Blake (Go-To Skin Care/author) have built multi-million dollar businesses with integrity and passion. They are wise, wealthy women who I love to follow for inspo. Tash is also a wellness warrior and Zoë is a witty writer so we have no chance but to Stan!

Here she glows..Zoë FB

Thank you for inspiring and encouraging me to write, workout and focus on abundance this year. Do you have any marvellous mentors?

Love and light and lead the way ladies! Xoxo Yvette
