“Your assumption, to be effective, cannot be a single isolated act, it must be a maintained attitude of the wish fulfilled.” Neville Goddard
You’ve probably heard the saying, “Never ASSUME, because when you ASSUME, you make an ASS of U and ME” but since discovering the Law of Assumption, I’m happily making an ASS of myself at every opportunity.
The Law of Assumption is one of the principles of author and teacher Neville Goddard’s work. It states that what you assume about the world, what you assume about others and what you assume about yourself is mirrored back to you in your life.
It differs from the Law of Attraction which is about co-creating with the Universe and positive thoughts attracting positive outcomes. With assumption, you are the creator of your own reality and you get what you can imagine and believe in. Rather than making negative assumptions like ‘they’re looking at me because my hair is weird’, you make positive ones like ‘they’re looking at me because I’m so hot I’m hurting their feelings.”
The first step in using the Law of Assumption is to clearly Decide what you want. If your desire is to own a beach house, decide it will be yours, get clear about it and commit to this reality.
The second step is to Feel it real. A big part of the Law of Assumption is embedding these positive conclusions in your subconscious. Reprogram it through affirmations and visualisations. Get the senses involved. Think about how the counter-tops feel (smooth and shiny), what the view looks like (beachy), take a whiff of sea breeze (salty), hear the real estate agent giving you the keys (jangly), taste the coconut coffee (creamy) you imbibe on the deck. Create a short visualisation loop that you replay on repeat each night before sleep-keys in hand-open sliding door-see/sniff/taste/hear the sea.
You must assume you have the life you want right now and believe in your vision more than your reality.
The third step is to Live in the end. I own the beach house and can’t be convinced otherwise. I ignore the 3D world as circumstances don’t matter and the past is an illusion. If fears, worries, doubts creep in-affirm the opposite. I’m rich as f*ck, real estate agents love me, I’m so hot I’m hurting my feelings.
And according to the Law of Assumption, when your internal state changes, your external reality must change along with it because the world is simply a projection of your consciousness. By maintaining the assumption that your desire is fulfilled, the physical manifestation of your desire is sure to follow.
So, come join me for a coastal coconut coffee and live in your wish fulfilled.
Love and light, sand dunes and salty air xoxo Yvette
