Guess who’s back?

I’m baaackk! Have missed you guyZ and bloggY. Since I’ve been gone-bloggY turned 4 and Melbournians turned 164 due to Stage 4 restrictions. I’ve decided to post whenever/wherever I’m inspired to so do (sign up to email list below for a heads up). The survey results (link to take it below if you’re yet to) showed a pretty even split between the topics you enjoy reading on WFM; Money, Sobriety/ Health, Recommendations (books, movies etc), Self-help stuff (law of attraction, mindfulness). So, I thought I’d give you a little of each to kick off the comeback.

The Script

“As you imagine and visualize and verbalize your new story, in time you will believe the new story, and when that happens, the evidence will flow swiftly into your experience”. Abraham Hicks I’m a lover of the Law of Attraction and enjoy using a technique called scripting. Scripting is where you write a story ofContinue reading “The Script”

2020 We have plenty

I’ve been inspired by wonderful Frugalistas and Frugal-Misters to make 2020 a low buy year. I’m looking forward to being more mindful with my spending, basing my purchases on needs rather than wants, embracing minimalism and simplicity and strengthening my will power. Some things are in my no-buy category (clothes, books and homewares), some thingsContinue reading “2020 We have plenty”

Words to live by

There is no shortage of inspirational quotes in our world; avalanches of them online, on fridge magnets and in books. Occasionally I stumble across one that gives me a moment of illumination, some comfort or a reframe of hope in this crazy old world in which we live… “Don’t focus on your competition, focus onContinue reading “Words to live by”

Oh bop, fashion!

You need to just stop
Like can you just not step on my gown?
You need to calm down

No shame and no blame

We waste so much time lamenting things we wish we didn’t do or say or wear or buy. This is unhelpful and floods your body with negative ninny neurones (it’s science). When I was giving up the booze, I felt attacked by my thoughts and hazy memories of shame and blame. Idiot! Why? Why me?Continue reading “No shame and no blame”

Vetty vs. dating

It’s been over a year since I summoned up the courage to ‘put myself out there’ by online dating. Please, no medal for bravery required, but I do appreciate the sentiment. It did involve the challenges of leaving the house, trying to look nice and talking to strangers. Here’s what I learned from 13 firstContinue reading “Vetty vs. dating”

Dear Diary,  I saw Ryan today. He was standing near my locker. Jjsskkkcccc jskkcchhcccjjjjsss!!! I had just come back from PE so hope I didn’t look fug. If I did…FML! But why tho?

Maybe those 3 year olds that test your patience by following you around asking, ‘why?….why?…but why?’ are onto something. Spectacled and sweet über-geek Simon Sinek suggests that we should always, ‘start with why’. He espouses on this simple but effective philosophy in his excellent TED talk and book of the same name. The basic premiseContinue reading “But why tho?”

If you build it…

“If you build it, he will come”.   This was what Kevin Costner heard a voice say as he wandered through the corn fields in the movie “Field of Dreams”. It inspired him to overcome obstacles and build a baseball diamond in his field which attracts Shoeless Joe Jackson and other dead baseball players emerge fromContinue reading “If you build it…”
