It’s Cardigan Weather!

It’s finally Autumn. The time of year I evolve from a too-sweaty-to-function pile of goo on the floor and become a fully-formed almost-functional member of society and get to wear layers. It’s cardigan weather! Now we can pivot from making small talk about how hot it is to making small talk about how cold it is. But you won’t hear a peep of complaint from me (‘til July at least).

Taylor Swift invented Cardigans.

Taylor also owns Autumn. See here-Basic Autumn Lovers Rise.

Once again, I am ripe for a reset. This working thing took a bit of an adjustment after lockdown life. You mean we don’t get a week off every other week? No snap lockdowns on the horizon? Life has pretty much been work-home-MAFS and any other habits went well out the window. But it is time to start stacking some good habits the way the MAFS producers stack the ads for upcoming eps to keep us coming back (right we’re done with cheating, now onto the nude photo scandal).

But do you like breakfast?

Tell your story walking….

Fitness-wise I’m committing to 10,00 steps for 5 days a week. Newly discovered podcast for inspiration as I walk, Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair (science behind why we age and interventions for slowing and even reversing ageing. Call me J. Lo). A daily Melissa Wood Health Yoga/Pilates flow and the 5:2 diet (restricting calories to 800 on 2 fasting days, then eating a healthy lower carb diet for the rest of the week). Sorry Carolina, I won’t be stepping a foot into the gym.

No ageing for me thanks David.

It’s a mental game…

Habits I’m using to build a peaceful positive mindset include making and listening to affirmation tracks (using loop apps like Selfpause and Parrot), meditating, breathwork, scripting and learning about the Law of Assumption (from YouTubers like Dylan James and from reading Neville Goddard books). If I’m living in the end that I’m rich, buying a Large Oat Flat White daily is perfectly fine.

Don your black turtleneck.

Play hard…

Well MAFS is dominating most of my viewing time (it’s a big commitment) but I’m also enjoying watching The Dropout on Disney+ (about the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos) and The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window on Netflix was lol. Especially as I’m loving reading psychological thrillers right now like Lucy Foley’s “The Guest List”. As the weather gets cooler, a cosy murder does seem to hit the spot!

In a world…

Bring on the Cinnamon. What are you enjoying now it’s cardigan weather?

Love and light and layers xoxo Yvette

  1. Melbourne in Autumn …. where else would you be?
Cool crisp mornings. Warm sunny days. Repeat.
The Port crew are binging Star Wars (Release Order only please), teaching H💜 to sit / drop / fetch , planning Easter getaways…..thinking of ways to avoid putting petrol in the car.

  2. Wait, it’s autumn Down Under? :O Still, good to hear that things are getting better down there. Where I am, the weather is getting hotter — much similar to the December heat that gets Aussies to the beach.

  3. God bless you in this season of mist and mellow fruitfulness…
I’m enjoying a good read under the cottontail blankets, moonshine through the balustrades…
