Space Clearing

Recently I took my love of house cleaning to a new level with a space clearing. I have decluttered and cleaned and now I have cleansed. Just as literal stuff can clog up your home, so can energetic stuff. It needn’t be as extreme as ghost-hunters but energy from you and previous residents can get stuck. There are lots of things you can do to clear this stuck energy and make room for more of what you want (abundance, creativity, Damien Lewis uber alles, love et al).

Ask the Professionals: My lovely kinesiologist, Elena Pilch, recently tuned into my homestead and did a space cleaning reading for it. She gave me lots of tips and an oil mix essence for my space cleaning ritual which I did and my home and I feel brand new. Here are a few things you can try…

Smells like burning: The most well known clearing technique is burning sage as many believe that the smoke can purify a space and chase out negative energy. Open up the doors and windows and beware the smoke alarm as you light it up and wave it around to start shifting the energy. If it’s a bit wafty for you, you can always get a space clearing spray to spritz around liberally. Use it everywhere and anywhere possible in all the nooks and crannies.

Oils ain’t oils: My oil diffuser is one of my most favourite things. Adding a few drops of this oil and that oil to it results in a delicious smell, vibe and mindset. I also use one at work with the intention of calming the kiddies (need-more-lavender). I burn lavender to chill, peppermint to perk up and rose to feel loved up. There are many combos that work a treat so fire up the diffuser and maybe light a few of those candles you got for Christmas.

Needs more salt: Salt is more than just delicious, it can purify things too. Put a bowl of salt water in each room to draw out the negative energy and leave it for the day. You can do some cleaning with it too. My crystals get a full moon soaking in salt water and I add a scoop of Epsom salts to my bath for a delicious treat.

Harness the good energy and block out the bad: In order to block negativity out, I sprinkled rice around the perimeters of my house, sealing up the doors and windows. Yet another reason the neighbours think I’m nutty. I also plan to get some house plants for good energy and greenery, preferably hardy ones I can’t kill!

Have you space cleansed dear reader?

  1. Another interesting and very different blog this week. I am always surprised by the range of topics that you write about which makes your blogs more interesting. When I saw the topic Space Clearing I expected it would be about decluttering and tidying up but not about the space cleaning ritual with oils etc. Your oil diffuser sounds good too and interesting also that you have one for the kiddies at work. I wonder what next weeks blog will be about!!

  2. I have a Himalayan salt lamp here for a bit of cleansing saltiness, and they’re just so beautiful to look at- very calming.
I buy them as perfect (if a little weighty) birthday presents!
